life as i know it

I used to write down my wish list, and wished for it before the new year kicked in or before the birthday cake’s candle burnt out. Gone are those days when I bother so much about new year’s resolutions. Gone are those days when I was being so hopeful about how a birthday candle might twist the fate and grant all my wishes. Let’s face it. It’s good to have a dream, but I have decided to be kinder to myself and not to blame myself during December period for having a bunch of uncompleted/unfulfilled new year’s resolutions.

Hones
tly, I am quite tired of my current point. I have no end and growing worries. I feel lonely amidst the crowd. Sometimes disconnected. I really need some excitement. A change (not sex change though). 2011 was certainly not a good year to me, if not worst. But, after giving it some thought, we will never appreciate sugar if we have never tasted the lemon, right? I’ve gone through many rocky rides and believe me, there will always be ways out. I think universe has its way in dealing with issues.

So, turning 29, I wish for more wisdom, and huge chunk of lucks and fortunes. I guess, it is just as simple as that. Happy birthday to me.

congratulations

to one of the many women i admire, for winning Best Designer Brand prize at the 2011 British Fashion Awards. starting as an unnoticed singer from spice girls, she has made name for herself and not just another footballer's wife. i quite like her, i think she is hilarious and not as boring as what people think she is.

the eye care expert

i was unhappily brushing my shirts (before tossing them to washing machine) when i hurled the liquid detergent bottle onto the floor. it SQUIRT-ed on me and took aim really well at my eyes. i called GOD because of the throbbing pain. you know how our eyes are so smart that they alert you on contact with foreign objects through pain and then blink or close your eyes. i had to forcefully open my eyes using my fingers and washed them with tap water, cold water, optrex, eye-drops, again and again. i was literally half blind. i immediately went to hibernate mode, hoping that i could sleep the pain and potential risk through. smart, no?! i woke up at 4+am testing if my eyes were alright and if i could still see. i could! afterwards I just went back to sleep.

my eyes are dirt free, sparkling, and cleansed now, all thanks to 'breeze color care'!

save the wardrobe, save the world

have u noticed recently that some of your shirts/pants are sneaking out of your wardrobe because they can barely breath in it anymore? every other day u either spend a lot of time looking for what you want to wear from the mountain of apparels or just keep wearing those new stuff you recently bought because they are easily available from the dryer? what about unused electronic gadgets (inc the chargers and packaging boxes), dvds, magazines, books, kitchenwares, and all other stuff that you intend or have actually replaced with substitutes? those old stuff really cling on us sometimes. most of the times because of the sentimental values, or we just thought we might need them again someday.

no doubt the: needs for new stuff, wants for beautiful new things, desires to follow the trend, demand to keep on the technology advancement, and of course, the purchasing power that you have. unless you have huge storage space or dedicated museum that you can keep your stuff when they've turned into antique, remember the basic rule of balancing the IN and the OUT.

you should consider:
- donate them. there will be people who need them. and what's better than sharing a little bit of your fortune with those in need?
- sell them. ebay, blogshop, fleamarket, what else..? they never were the investments, so don't think of making money out of the sales.
- exchange them. hey, your friends might like your vintage, you'll never know.
- dump them. yes, dump them! you don't need to provide more nests to bug mites, do you?

not only that you are creating spaces in your home, but you are indirecly helping the world to 'recycle' things. so, get your stuff sorted out from now on, and see you in the fleamarkets.

gingerbread cake

far from perfect i know..!! even if i have lemon icing on the top of the cake wont help much. but, considering i baked this with bread toaster (i dont have oven), i dont have the cake pan that i have to make-do with aluminium foil (and folded it like making origami), only a little burn on top, my first attempt of baking should be considered: acceptable.

gingerbread cake for tomorrow's breakfast!

attention to: incompetent people & inept leaders

being incompetent does not mean the end of the world if you manage to build good relationships with the morons who could make use of you and willing to back you up. being incompetent means you are good in making up lies, make yourself look good in front of the morons, avoid responsibilities, passing and pushing duties and responsibilities, good in reasoning, and probably the best brown-nose in town.

for those morons who compare the incompetent people with competent people, and use the incompetence as the tool to motivate (a better word to use than 'attack') others, you dare to call yourself a great man? are you cut out to be great?

seriously, kudos to those incompetent people who survived, and shame on you, 'leaders'.

sautéed sausage with onions

place the onions in a large skillet, add olive oil, turn the heat to medium, and cook for about 1 minute. add the salt, a pinch of dried rosemary and black pepper. stirring frequently until the onions are tender and soft. cook the cut sausages in the same pan over medium heat. cook until nicely browned all over. total cooking time will depend on the thickness of the sausages.

and voila..this is one of the easiest emergency food that you can serve at home.

1/4 life crisis?!

we walk down the road realizing that we are not going along with the crowd. we start wondering if the things that we do are close to what we thought we would be doing. we thought about our life and job, and again, are those even close to what we thought we would want to have? but the thought of going to have to start anew scares us. wait.., do we actually know what we want in our life to begin with? is this again a midlife crisis for most people?

side track: i dreamed about a peaceful life in i-dont-know-where, probably nepal or tibet, somewhere in the mountain, beautiful white brick house, cool weather, beautiful clean river yards away, and yes..horses, no car! and i dont remember seeing my blackberry in my dream as well. in the dream, i didnt do much but just sit down absorbing the serenity and in a moment, i felt the inner peace. thanks to the alarm that does not recognize public holiday, i was brought back to the real world.

seriously, kudos for the people who have the guts to 'restart' their life so that they can live their dream!
